Inspiration For Sketching

If you are a beginner at sketching, then you ought to practice a lot to get a good hang of it. You will be taught several techniques at your sketching class, but if you have to improve it, you have to keep practicing even when you are not attending the classes. There are many inspirations that you can get just sitting on the porch of your house. You could see kids cycling or playing, butterfly fluttering from one flower to another, birds perching on a tree trunk, ice cream vendor, a nice car parked across the street, a beautiful house with a lovely garden on the opposite side. There are many things you can draw inspiration from. When you take a walk in the park during your leisure time, do carry the pencil and paper along. You can sit there and try to practice your sketch while observing people and nature.

Sketching and drawing is the basic foundation for painting. Hence you have to get perfect with it, before you can go further. Carry your sketchbook and pencil in your bag, wherever you go, be it a restaurant, bank, bus, zoo, theater, circus, or even when you travel out of town. You will never know what beautiful thing you will get to see on the way, and you would want to sketch it. It is also good to carry a camera, so that if you do not have time to sketch on spot, you can capture the moment in your camera, and then sketch it in leisure.

If you are learning sketching on your own, you can always take up a short course in sketching, which will polish your already existing skills, and you can see a lot of improvement in your work.

Halloween Creativity

Children love wearing costumes and going from house-to-house asking trick or treat during Halloween. It is that time of year again, and it is a good time to indulge children in using their creativity. Drawing activities for kids will allow them to use their imagination and create something beautiful for Halloween. Involve your child while decorating home. Give them simple exercise like painting pumpkin. Pumpkin decoration can be so much fun and children love to play with paint. Give them paints, glitters, feathers, beads, and whatever they can use to decorate the pumpkins. Allow them to paint postcards in whatever manner they wish to, and use these postcards to decorate the house. They would look like a nice collection of abstract postcards. You can use painted papers created by your child to make paper lanterns and it will look beautiful at night.

You can also involve them when you make Jack-O'-Lanterns. They will love indulging and learning some new creative stuff and it will be a nice time to bond with your child. This would be a nice opportunity to teach them how to use art tools like brushes and how to paint using brush. As there will be no restriction in creativity, children will enjoy it.

Do not miss this special time to bond with your child, create nice Halloween decorations, and have lasting memories!
